Recently you had a delay in the distribution of your products in the Coop supermarkets across Switzerland. Can you better explain the reason?
With the opening of the Swiss market all actors (breeders, local and foreign authorities, processors like us and supermarkets) entered in an unknown territory. When pioneering, things can go a bit differently than expected.
Why did you have problems in raw materials suppling?
There are very few producers who comply with the legal requirements the Swiss authorities have established. We worked on supporting those producers through the process.
How did you solve that problem?
We worked closely with all involved partners.
Is the Swiss regulation on importation of edible insects too much restrictive?
The legal framework is setted so that only safe products could reach the Swiss market. The Swiss authorities have been very supportive during this process.
Do you think things will be easier after January 2018?
I believe things become clearer once a clear framework is adopted in the EU.
